Because the show absolutely, definitely, must, can and will go on!

A theatre company is trying to keep their disastrous production on the road. The director is despairing, the leading lady cannot find her props, one of the actors is still in the pub and everyone is in love, in lust, in a sulk, or all three at once. As doors slam, lines are forgotten and egos unravel backstage; it becomes increasingly clear that the real drama is happening behind the scenes.

Stratford East Artistic Director Lisa Spirling (Bloodsport: After Helen of Troy) directs Michael Frayn’s multi award-winning comedy Noises Off starring Tameka Empson (4 times winner of Inside Soap Awards Funniest Female, Winner of 2022 Best Comedy Performance at the British Soap Awards, Celebrity Traitors, The Big Life at Stratford East) and Paterson Joseph (Peep Show, Vigil, Wonka, Sancho & Me).

A love letter to anyone who has ever stood in the wings, heart pounding and made the impossible look easy, this riotous play-within-a-play starts with a frantic dress rehearsal, then flips around to show the chaos backstage at a performance in full meltdown. With its perfectly timed entrances, exits and spectacular mishaps, Noises Off may just be one of the funniest plays ever written.
