Applications for the next Young Company are now open!
The Stratford East Young Company are a group of actors and theatre-makers aged 18-25, primarily from east London*, who are interested in taking the next step towards a career in the arts. As a Young Company member, you’ll have access to alternative professional training, working with Young Company Director and ROMEO & JULIET Associate Director Grace Duggan over a 10-month programme. You’ll have the opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive learning environment to nurture and develop your talents.
This year the Stratford East Young Company will be working towards a full-scale mainstage production of ROMEO & JULIET written by William Shakespeare and adapted by Kwame Owusu, co-directed by Emily Ling-Williams and Malik Nashad Sharpe. The cast will be made up of Stratford East Young Company Members and Sadlers Wells Young Dancers, alongside a chorus of Newham Residents. For more information about the show, look here.

Video/Self-tape Instructions
To help us see the best version of you, we would like you to send in a video/self-tape no longer than 2 minutes in length.
It could be a monologue from a play/ film/ TV show or written by yourself. If that doesn’t feel like the right medium for you, it could also be some poetry/spoken word, a snippet of your latest song or a story from your life. Anything that gives a sense of you and what you do as an actor/theatre-maker.

Next Steps
Successful applicants will be invited to a first-round audition at Stratford East on Thu 24 Oct, 5pm - 9:30pm.
Second round of auditions will be held on Sat 02 Nov from 10am – 5pm.
