The theme of the festival is Kingdom United, as Rikki Beadle-Blair says, ‘in which our autumn crop of Angelic Tales playwrights dive heart-first into unexplored depths of multi-culturalism in Brexit Britain’:
The residents of a rundown south coast tower block find their lives interwining in a series of startling ways. Vivid, face paced, electrifyingly outrageous. By Sophie Olivia Ali
Acclaimed writer and director Rikki Beadle-Blair and Team Angelica have shortlisted some of the most interesting and thought-provoking pieces of fresh writing to be developed in these rehearsed readings and then put on our stage.

Her first full length play, A Town Without Pity, (about abuse within a family) went on at the Arena Theatre in Wolverhampton. Her short plays have included; A Snip in Time (About female genital mutilation in London) performed at the Chelsea Theatre and later at the Courtyard Theatre, when selected for Lost Theatre's new writing festival. Another play, Tequila Mocking Birds (a tale of hell, heaven and too much tequila) was shortlisted for the Kenneth Brannagh Windsor Fringe New writing festival 2013. It was also performed at the Hen and Chickens Theatre in London.
In 2014 her short play Cuming & Going (a raunchy online dating comedy) went on at the Bush Theatre as part of the writing festival Boom run by Team Angelica.
Her most recent play, Block of Seagulls has been selected to be part of Angelic Tales at Theatre Royal Stratford East. It has been developed with the ongoing support and encouragement of mentors John Russel Gordon and Rikki Beadle-Blair over the last few years.
Block of Seagulls - Seagulls land on their prey and peck out pieces of their flesh"...their human neighbours have a lot in common with them. In this seaside block of flats, the walls are thin and the neighbours are loud. These neighbours have no shame. Everyone knows your secrets. And they might just stab you in the back. Literally.
