Join us for an afternoon of FREE and fun activities at our Fun Palace, taking place in Stratford Youth Zone.

FUN PALACE SCHEDULE

Miss Ballooniverse - Balloon Artist to the stars: various times from 1pm
Come and join internationally renowned Balloon Artist, Miss Ballooniverse ‘Balloon Artist To The Stars’, who will be teach you how to make your very own balloon animal!

Pop-Up Singing: various times from 1pm 
Love to sing? Join in a pop-up singing workshop led by young people from Stratford Circus' resident choir, New YVC, funded by Youth Music.

Circus Skills: various times from 1pm 
Learn new skills with circus performner Mike Corr, who will show you how to juggle, spin plates and more!

FLOCK: Bird Headdresses: 1pm-5pm 
Join artist Del Taylor and make a colourful bird headdress to become part of the flock. What personality will your bird have?

Exposed Reality - An Audio-Visual Exhibition by Forest Gate Youth Zone: 1pm-6pm 
An audio-visual exhibition by young people from Forest Gate Youth Zone, who have been working with artists Paul Andrew, Jovana Backovic and Sylvie Belbouab to co-create a project about identity and Newham. Featuring music, story-telling and photography. Please note: the exhibition explores sensitive subject matters including knife crime and violence.

Face Painting: 1pm-5pm 
Come and get your face painted by pro Ny Glorious. 

Decorate the Unity Lantern: 1pm-5pm 
Join in the decoration of the Unity Lantern, which will form the focal point of Stratford East's Unity Lantern Parade on 07 Oct in Stratford Park.

Lantern Making: 1pm-5pm 
Create your own individual colourful lantern for Stratford East's Unity Lantern Parade on 07 Oct in Stratford Park. 

Takeaway Poetry: 1.30pm-4.30pm 
Join local poets from Newham Poetry Group who will work with you to create your very own personalised poem to takeaway. 

Newham Collaborative Artwork: 1pm-5pm
Flex your colouring skills and contribute to a new piece of art that celebrates Newham, drawn by Animator and Illustrator Pencil Bandit. 

Storytime with Drag King Adam All: 3.30pm & 4.30pm 
Join London's leading Drag King and ultimate showmen Adam All as they read stories and sing songs in our storytelling tent for audiences aged 0-100! Adam All will be joined in the tent by BSL Interpreter Becky Allen.


From 5pm-6pm join our host, London's leading Drag King and ultimate showmen Adam All, for a host of live performances from local performers: 

Gouri Choudhury
Listen to the sounds of one of the UK's most popular Bangladeshi singers, Gouri Choudhury, perform popular and traditional Bangladeshi music. 

Nicole Acquah
Watch Performer Nicole Acquah perform her own original spoken word pieces. 

Sing-a-long with Newham Superchoir
Come and join our Fun Palace finale and have a sing-a-long with Newham's lively, inclusive, community choir for the over 60s. 


Fun Palaces is an ongoing national and international campaign, nurturing and supporting the potential and positivity of sharing people’s enthusiasms, passions and skills with their own local community. Fun Palaces has an annual weekend of events each October, taking place in 2021 from 01-03 Oct. During the weekend, check out what’s happening elsewhere:

Visitors are welcome to simply arrive on the day and join in the fun. All the activities will take place in Stratford Youth Zone (formerly Stratford Circus). Booking is not required. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
