Express Yourself is an evening of spoken word organised and hosted by Ella-May Hooper. It started as a small idea to enable poets to come together, express themselves and their thoughts about the world and to share their craft.
This is the second time Express Yourself has been at Gerry’s and we are very excited to be back!
Since it’s the day before Valentine’s, the theme is ‘Is Romance Dead in the Modern World?’ The amazing line-up of spoken word artists will all give you their response to this question, alongside an array of funny, insightful and poignant pieces.
There will also be time for a bit of open mic, so if anyone in the audience feels inspired by the theme, they will be welcome to share their words.
It has been said that ‘Express Yourself at Gerry’s feels like being curled up in your living room reading a good book and in equal measures like the world has just changed a little.’
