A MERRY OLD VARIETY NIGHT brings together a dazzling line-up of performers in true Stratford East style, including:
THANYIA MOORE is an award-winning comedian, a skilled actor, an experienced writer, voice-over artist and dynamic presenter best known for her fiercely commanding stage persona. Since winning the Funny Women Award in 2018, she’s become a familiar face on Mock the Week, House of Games, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Celebrity Mastermind and more. As an actor, Thanyia’s credits span from EastEnders to the BAFTA-winning Alma’s Not Normal and Jamie Johnson.
LACHLAN WERNER brings a deliciously bizarre and endlessly entertaining mix of ventriloquism, clowning, and chaos. Described as “comedy’s poof prince of puppets”, his sell-out shows have wowed audiences from Soho Theatre to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, winning awards and critical acclaim along the way. He was runner up for LGBTQ+ New Comedian of The Year, a nominee for Chortle Variety Act Award, BBC New Comedy Award, and ISH Best Newcomer Edinburgh Comedy Award.
FLO & JOAN - the sister duo, Nicola and Rosie Dempsey are a multi-award winning British musical comedy duo. With sold-out shows across the UK and viral songs racking up more than 75 million views, these two are a comedy force to be reckoned with. You’ll have seen them on Live at the Apollo (BBC2), The Royal Variety Performance (ITV), Comic Relief (BBC1), and The Russell Howard Hour (Sky).
LONDON SCHOOL OF SAMBA is the UK’s oldest and most vibrant samba school and celebrates 41 years of rhythm, colour, and carnival spirit. Their high-energy performances fuse Brazilian and African roots with a distinctly London flair complete with dazzling costumes, infectious drumming, and joyful dancing that’s impossible to resist.
STRATFORD EAST SINGERS are known for their big harmonies and joyous sound, The Stratford East Singers are a dynamic community choir who have lit up stages across the UK. They've appeared on the X-Factor (ITV), The One Show (BBC), and won third place in the original BBC Two series The Naked Choir. With over a decade of sold-out performances, The Stratford East Singers - led by their Creative Director Byron Gold - continue to push boundaries of what 'community singing' can mean.
BOLLYWOOD VIBES - one of the UK’s leading professional Bollywood dance companies are ready to sweep us away with their moves. Known for their spectacular choreography, stunning costumes, and infectious energy, this award-winning troupe brings the colour and excitement of Bollywood to life. From dazzling footwork to irresistible rhythm, their performances are a feast for the senses guaranteed to bring the best in Bollywood entertainment.
DRU CRIPPS is a two-time British Comedy Guide award winner and a Malcolm Hardee Award Winner. He blends improvisation, clown and musical comedy in ways that he refers to as “showing up and seeing what happens” making every inventive, unpredictable performance a one-of-a-kind experience. Join Dru as he uses nothing but his trusty Loopstation and the magic of your suggestions to whip up a bizarre and hilarious frenzy.
JIVING LINDY HOPPERS return to Stratford East with the swing, rhythm, and infectious joy that made them variety night favourites in decades past. They are the UK’s finest authentic jazz dance company, specialising in the original form of jive dancing that developed in Harlem during the 1920s. Their talent and versatility shine through the wide range of dances they perform, all deeply rooted in the authentic jazz dance tradition passed down by legends such as Mama Lou Parks, Frankie Manning, and Norma Miller. Their international tours, television appearances, and countless performances and workshops across the world have earned them a global reputation as ambassadors of authentic jazz dance.
THE MAJORETTES are here to spin, skate, and sparkle! This Guinness World Record–holding hula hoop troupe has wowed audiences from Barcelona to Bombay, bringing disco, carnival, and full-on glitter power wherever they go. Since 2012, they’ve been dazzling crowds and inspiring movement through their unique blend of athleticism and artistry.
