Gift Acceptance Statement

Learn more about our approach to accepting gifts and the principles that guide our fundraising

Stratford East is a registered charity (Charity name: Pioneer Theatres Limited, Charity number: 233801). We rely on private support from our audiences, companies, and Trusts & Foundations to continue our mission of making world-class theatre in the heart of the East End. Gifts from our supporters help us to create bold new productions, nurture artists, and make theatre accessible to all through our Learning & Participation programmes.

We are committed to best practice in our fundraising. We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and abide by their Code of Fundraising Practice. We will always keep our fundraising open, honest, legal, and respectful. We undertake to comply with all relevant laws and regulations, Charity Commission guidance, and our own corporate policies.

Ultimate responsibility for accepting and refusing funding sits with our Board of Trustees, who are supported by the Development and Executive teams. Stratford East have established policies and procedures on gift acceptance and may conduct due diligence on prospective funders, both individuals and organisations. Each case will be considered individually and on its own merits.

It is the duty of the Board to act in the best interests of Stratford East, and they will decline a gift if it would be more detrimental to Stratford East's charitable purposes to accept it than to refuse.

Thank you to all our generous supporters past and present. Your donations keep Stratford East a world-class neighbourhood theatre.
