We’re bringing back our legendary Variety Night this December and we’re on the hunt for one more show-stopping act to join the line-up!
Are you part of a hip hop/gymnastics/cheerleading/novelty dance/samba (or anything in between!) group/duo/trio? We’re looking for one more act to take to our beautiful Stratford East stage for a 10-minute slot and be part of the night.
This is a paid opportunity to perform in one of London’s most iconic theatres, supported by a top-class technical team and a ready-made audience. We’re especially keen to hear from East London locals.
To apply, email varietynight@stratfordeast.com with the following details:
Name of applicant, name of act, borough you are based in.
Number of people in your act.
Access needs of any of the people in your act.
Social media/YouTube/Website/CV links
A paragraph about yourself, what your act is and your experience in performing. This can be written or recorded.
Any other material that showcases your work which can include WeTransfer video (no more than 2 minutes long)
Deadline: Midday Fri 31 Oct
Details of the night:
When: Thu 04 Dec 8pm start (there will be technical slots in the theatre in the week leading up).
Where: Stratford East, Gerry Raffles Square, London, E15 1BN
Fee: £250 for the act for the night.
This year is a very special year as we turn 140 years old!
We have been incredibly fortunate to receive funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund which means we can host lots of exciting events and activities throughout the year for FREE.
There were sessions of BSL IN THEATRE with Caro Parker, DRAG QUEEN STORYTIME with That Girl, MARIONETTE-PUPPET MAKING, Heritage Tours, Newham Music instruments session and performances from the community choir and Stratford East Singers on our incredible stage, with the day wrapped up with free patties and ice cream for all! We loved seeing you all and sharing our beautiful theatre with our beloved community and hope to do it again.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund is the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players we support projects that connect people and communities to heritage. Our vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. From historic buildings, our industrial legacy and the natural environment, to collections, traditions, stories and more. Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past.
