The critics have spoken, and they are in awe! This bold and genre-defying work has garnered a constellation of five and four-star reviews, solidifying its status as a must-see theatrical experience. TAMBO & BONES is running until SAT 10 MAY 2025.

"Unique, challenging and oh-so necessary": The Guardian's description captured the powerful impact of TAMBO & BONES's 2023 debut on the London Theatre scene. This "provocative and witty Black fable" was also lauded by The Telegraph as "like nothing you've ever seen," and a "revelation."

Other sites like Time Out revelled in its "gloriously irreverent joyride through Black American archetypes," Afridiziak celebrated its "limitless possibilities of theatre," and The Stage praised its "entertaining as it is unnerving" ability to blur reality and fiction.

Stepping into 2025, the show has a new sense of momentum with captivated reviewers seeing the show’s audacious exploration of identity, racism, and capitalist ideologies.

The Reviews Hub, awarded five stars, said through a unique blend of "part minstrel show, part concert and part sci-fi dystopia." The unfolding narrative is undeniably "gripping and shocking," leaving a lasting impact Stratford East audiences.

All That Dazzles gave another five-star rating, calling TAMBO & BONES "an absolute smash.", "a satire of the highest order," and "breath of fresh air to the often dusty London theatre scene."

Other five star reviews came from Curtain Call Reviews and Ovation Radio on Instagram, urging audiences to understand "the price you pay when we forget our humanity and the humanity of others."

The show also received a host of four-star reviews from sites like West End Best Friend saying it is "very much worth seeing", Londontheatre1 said "ingenious and impressive" quality that can "draw gasps.", Everything Theatre concurs, calling TAMBO & BONES "a brilliantly complex, entertaining yet challenging play, both superbly produced and performed."

The Upcoming praised its "razor-sharp dissection of authorship and commodification" and its profound questioning of whether "freedom is even possible or just another role to perform." With Broadway World commending the "truly powerful performances" of Clifford Samuel and Daniel Ward, predicting they "will remain in the minds of audiences for months to come."

ajhlovestheatre succinctly describes it as an "extraordinary, genre-defying examination of masculinity and race, stunningly performed."

The overwhelming critical response speaks volumes. TAMBO & BONES is not just a play to see; it's an experience to be had. It's a conversation starter, a boundary pusher, and a vital piece of theatre for our times.
