Initiated by English Heritage Outreach and delivered in partnership with Theatre Royal Stratford East
25 July - 8 August
A visual arts exhibition, focusing on everyday life in Stratford. People's routines, daily routes, and habitual activities in Stratford are celebrated in art works in a range of media including painting, sculpture, photography and film.
Art works have been created by users of the Hibiscus Community Centre with artist Maria Kheirkhah, Carpenters and Docklands Youth Centre with artist Corinne Felgate and the Professional Development Group at Rosetta Arts Centre with artist Matthew Krishanu. In addition, artists local to the area or with a strong connection to Stratford were invited to think of a place in Stratford that they have an everyday or routine relationship with.
The exhibition emphasises what is routine, but nonetheless memorable. All these individual places have been given form in art works that share the personal narratives - Where is the place? What is the routine? What does it mean to you?
Part of the exhibition includes a map that records all these places of interest, highlighting ‘everyday hotspots' and the routes people weave their everyday life through in Stratford.
