Working With Us

Vacancy: Digital Communications Officer

Want to be part of an innovative and vibrant arts organisation during the excitement of the Olympics and beyond? Theatre Royal Stratford East is looking for a marketing and communications professional with a passion for digital to join the small team at our busy, producing venue in East London on the doorstep of the 2012 Olympic site.  To view/download the application pack including full details of the job please click here.

Deadline: Midday, Wednesday 8 February

Open Stage Volunteers

We need friendly, energetic  volunteers to help us ask people what they want on the Theatre Royal Stratford East stage in 2012. You need to be enthusiastic, enjoy meeting people and want to be part of creating our future. It would really help if you have some local knowledge about East London.

We're looking for people who can give about 30 hours of their time over the next few months.

What do I get out of it?
It's great way to build up your communications skills and confidence, get behind the scenes and have a say in our future. You'll...

  • Meet new people and make some new friends
  • Gain new skills and experience in a supportive and creative place
  • Work alongside professionals from TRSE and see behind the scenes
  • Shape how Open Stage will work for you and your community

To apply: Just complete the application form to get a volunteer place and email it to Charlotte at openstage@stratfordeast.com. We'll then be in touch very soon to organise our first meeting. Call Charlotte if you'd like more details on 020 8279 1169.

Bar Musicians

Theatre Royal has a thriving programme of free live music in the Bar all year round, and is always looking for new acts. Musicians play background music in our busy bar (there are often audiences going into main-house shows, as well as enthusiastic bar regulars!) on Tuesdays to Thursdays evenings; Saturdays afternoon and evenings; and Sundays afternoons. Musicians arrive 15 mins before start time to set up - and it’s important that they have enough material to fill 3 (or 4) hours, with a break.

If you are interested in applying, please send a letter with demo to: Leanda Linton, Bar & Front of House Manager, Theatre Royal Stratford East, Gerry Raffles Square, London E15 1BN; e-mail on llinton@stratfordeast.com; or phone on 020 8279 1170.

Best of Newham

Tuesday nights in the bar play host to Best of Newham, a showcase of local talent.

If you're a musician, singer or stand-up comedian living in Newham and looking for a platform to share your work, then Best of Newham is for you! Shortlisted acts will be invited to audition for the theatre's artistic team, with successful acts being paid a fee for their performance.

Alongside this, we will also offer a monthly surgery where interested acts will be given advice and tips to help them progress into the bar's programme.

If you are interested in applying, please fill in the application form and send an example of your work to bestofnewham@stratfordeast.com or phone on 020 8279 1157.
