Auditorium
Theatre Royal is a Grade II* Listed building. It was refurbished in 1921 by the acclaimed designer Frank Matcham, who also designed the London Coliseum. With its gorgeous red and gold interior - complete with a stunning chandelier and six boxes - the audience are placed on three levels (stalls, dress circle and upper circle), each with an intimate relationship with the stage and a unique atmosphere. The auditorium may be hired out in its entirety, or by level.

Stage
Even deeper than the auditorium, Theatre Royal's gold proscenium arched stage is made of timber and is slightly raked (1 in 20). There's a permanent lighting rig, comprehensive sound system, hemp flying, scene dock, workshop, fly floor and grid.

Hedley Rehearsal Room
Sponsored by Cameron Macintosh and named in honour of Theatre Royal's last Artistic Director Philip Hedley CBE, this is the larger of the two rehearsal rooms. Situated on the second floor, this bright room has a sprung floor, one mirrored wall and stunning views of the 2012 Olympic development. Suitable for rehearsals, workshops, sharings and performances.

Dillon Rehearsal Room
On the ground floor, this smaller rehearsal room - named after the actor/manager Charles Dillon who built Theatre Royal - has a sprung floor, its own kitchen and accessible toilet. Suitable for rehearsals and workshops.

Meeting Room
Our second floor Meeting Room offers boardroom style seating and two glass walls with views over the 2012 Olympic development and Gerry Raffles Square. Suitable for formal meetings and training, this was once Joan Littlewood's office and still contains her desk, library and other memorabilia.

Theatre Workshop Bar
Situated on the ground floor, Theatre Workshop Bar offers a wide variety of beers, wines and spirits and is named after Joan Littlewood's world-famous company that made its home at Theatre Royal in 1953. Traditional Caribbean dishes and snacks are served by ‘Caribbean Flavours'.
Ken Hill Bar
Situated at Dress Circle level, the Ken Hill Bar is an intimate, non-smoking bar, ideal for corporate hospitality. Dedicated to the memory of the late writer/director responsible for Theatre Royal hits such as ‘The Phantom of the Opera', ‘The Invisible Man' and ‘Zorro'.
