Submissions & Casting

Submissions

Theatre Royal Stratford East is the people's theatre that celebrate voices, focusing on musicals and new writing. We dare and we explore – without shying away from the complexities; we nurture and develop narratives that are reflective of our local community and the wider world in which they live.

Submissions - Musicals & New writing

Theatre Royal Stratford East is currently reviewing its submissions policy for the main stage. Please keep checking this page for more information.

Submissions - Gerry's

Gerry’s is our 60 seat flexi-space studio. It’s a place to be daring, inventive and bold.

New opportunitiy: Callout for new work for new festival Stronger than Fear - a festival of hope

If you would like to submit your work for consideration for our Studio space, please send information directly to Associate Producer Daisy Hale at dhale@stratfordeast.com - this can be in the form of a script, video links, invites to see work or a tour pack.

If you are a writer sending a script, please be clear in what you are looking for, whether that be a reading, notes, or are wanting to stage your work. Gerry's is mostly a receiving house and therefore new writing should come with a producing team if being considered for staging.

We strongly encourage work from artists that are under-represented in theatre and work alongside all our visiting artists carefully to mentor and nurture their work. Please note that Gerry's programmes shows that are already realised or have a team attached to them.

Please do not contact Daisy with scripts for the main stage as this submission window is under review. Daisy also programmes a rolling season of events for our cafe space. If you're a poet, artist, cabaret artist, singer, musician or want to host your own night, please get in touch.
