ANGELIC TALES
ANGELIC TALES
Mon 11 Jun - Sat 16 Jun 2012
Angelic Tales
Acclaimed writer and director Rikki Beadle-Blair and his Team Angelica have personally selected some of the most interesting pieces of new writing around to present as rehearsed readings this June.
This is the second instalment of Angelic Tales following the first successful run in February and March.
‘I've been a writer almost all my life, but Angelic Tales has been a total unexpected rebirth.
Working closely with over 40 writers, sharing their visions, their dreams and their ever-expanding spirit of adventure, every workshop, every rehearsal has left me wide-eyed and more in love with theatre than ever.
This time round you'll see powerful, shocking and hilarious stories from some of today's most exhilarating new writing voices.
We've discovered some real gems through the open submission process and I am so proud that so many of the writers are East Londoners.
It's thrilling to find this much talent right on our doorstep. And so entertaining!
This is not dry, polite drama. This is a great night out. And that's what Theatre is all about. What it means to be alive.’
Rikki Beadle Blair
Open Stage
Through the Open Stage process, there will be opportunities to debate and comment on the work and the theatre pledges to further develop at least one of the most popular pieces to a professional performance level.
Presented by Theatre Royal Stratford East in association with Team Angelica
